The manufacturing industry is currently facing scrutiny from parties concerned for its survival. Far from facing a decline, however, it could instead be on the verge of a technological renaissance.

It is fair to say that the manufacturing industry appears to have had an uninspiring start to the year. Manufacturing in the UK is “close to stagnation”, a study by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) has suggested.
