3rd European Conference on Banking and the Economy ECOBATE 2014

For the second year running The Information Daily is proud to be the media partner for the 3rd European Conference on Banking and the Economy – ECOBATE 2014 Wednesday, 8 October 2014 in Winchester Guildhall.

The conference is organised by the Centre for Banking, Finance and Sustainable Development (CBFSD) at Southampton University and lead by Professor Richard A. Werner, D.Phil. (Oxon), Chair in International Banking and Director of the CBFSD.

Speakers include Lord Adair Turner (former chairman of the FSA), Sir John Gieve (former deputy-governor of the Bank of England), Prof. John Kay (columnist , the Financial Times), Prof. Charles Goodhart (LSE) and Ralf Barkey, CEO of the Rhineland-Westphalian Association of Cooperatives. 

Workshop sessions run from 9:00 am and the proceedings are open to the public from 3.40 pm.

At 4:00 pm there is a question time-style panel session featuring Charlie Haswell, HSBC Kath Shimmin, Blake Morgan; Fergal McCann, Irish Central Bank;  Wesley Wright and Baron Karl‐ Theodor zu Guttenberg, Spitzberg Partners.
